Spicer Winter Tour Snowmobile Ride To Benefit
Michigan
Special Olympics Was A Success!
Spicer’s Winter Tour 2006 snowmobile ride was an excellent success, raising over $15,475.00 for Michigan Special Olympics. The eleven year cumulative total is $187,595.00. Each year 100% of funds raised go directly to Winter Special Olympics.
The event kicked off Thursday evening, February 9, with a welcome reception at Comfort Inn Suites of Houghton Lake, hosted by Phillip and Shelley Spicer and their team of dedicated employees.
On Friday morning, over 100 riders met at Spicer’s
Boat
City
anxious to ride. The groomers once again did a super job, along with fresh snow from mother nature to make the trails perfect for the days ride. Food and refreshments were met with enthusiasm along the trail. At mid-morning, participants were treated to coffee, hot chocolate and doughnuts at

bar. Lunch soon followed at
Camp

blanketed by the fresh snow. The fire pit was a very warm and popular spot, as lunch was provided by Coyles Restaurant. At trails end, riders met at the Knights of Columbus Hall for a catered banquet, again served and provided by Coyle’s Restaurant. After ride festivities included a 50/50 drawing, awards presentation, and recognition of this year’s sponsors along with a special guest speaker and three young medal winners who spoke about the meaning of this great event.
